Tofu Scramble

Great healthier alternative to egg scramble!

Recipe by Muzammil Ahmad (IG: @dr.plantbased)


  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 1 block of extra firm tofu (~400g)

  • 1 small onion & 2-3 roma tomatoes

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • Spices (1 tsp cumin, 1tbsp chili powder,

  • 1/4 tsp turmeric, salt & pepper to taste)

  • 1 cup baby spinach

  • 2 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)


  1. Drain water from tofu & crumble using your fingers into a bowl

  2. Saute diced onion for 5-8 mins

  3. Add garlic & cook for 30 secs

  4. Add tofu & chopped tomatoes and saute for 10 mins

  5. Add spinach, spices & soy sauce and saute until it's dry

  6. Add nutritional yeast if cheesy flavor is desired

No-oil cooking method tip

  • Use 3 tbsp of vegetable broth
